The guides from SSU report about a lot of cracks in the ice in Tempelfjorden and a lot of water between the ice and the snow. Difficult/dangerous to drive between Fredheim and Kapp Schoultz.
The Governor has been informed of difficult driving conditions with lots of snow and danger of landslide in the scootertrack between Fardalen and Colesdalen
There are crevasses along the track made by the bulldozer on Slakkbreen. The area has been marked with bamboo sticks. The lack of snow makes it more likely to be several other open crevasses compared to a “normal winter”. Please be aware that there might be other areas with open crevasses along the track to Svea
There has been a dozer transport from Longyearbyen to Svea today, 5.2.2010. There are deep traces in Todalen and Gangdalen. Snowmobile drivers must pay attention.
